How accurate is a 10-minute estimate, really?
PrelimPro is a preliminary estimate, designed to sit at the concept / feasibility stage, not replace a tendered contract price. Every estimate shows a pricing range as well as a single figure to give a guide of the expected costs. All underlying rates come from TCA's database of 10,000 real Australian projects.
What plans do I need to upload?
Anything from a concept design through to full DA documentation in PDF format. The more detail and clarity we have, the tighter the estimate.
Can I white-label the PDF output?
Yes. On a premium subscription, upload your logo and set your brand colours. From here every export will include your branding with only a small "Powered by PrelimPro".
What types of projects does it cover?
Residential work across Australia, new builds, extensions, renovations, duplexes and small multi-res. Commercial and large-scale projects aren't in this first release, but sit on our roadmap.
Who owns the drawings I upload?
You do. We process drawings to produce your estimate and use anonymised quantity data to improve our models. We never share your plans, project addresses or client information.
How is this different from an online cost calculator?
Cost calculators multiply square metres by an average rate. PrelimPro reads your actual drawings, measures specific quantities, and applies rates from a real project database, trade by trade. It's the difference between a guess and an estimate.
