Your privacy matters to us.This policy explains what personal information and project data we collect, how we use it — including for AI model improvement — and your rights under Australian privacy law.
This Privacy Policy describes how Constuct Assist Pty Ltd (ABN 82 169 177 182), trading as PrelimPro ("we", "us" or "our"), collects, holds, uses, and discloses personal information and project data in connection with the PrelimPro platform and services.
We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the thirteen Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in Schedule 1 of that Act. This policy is written to satisfy our obligations under APP 1 (open and transparent management of personal information).
By using the PrelimPro platform, creating an account, uploading documents, or otherwise engaging our services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
We collect two broad categories of information: personal information about individuals, and project data including construction drawings and associated files. The types of information we collect include:
Account and identity information
Payment information
Usage and platform data
Project and document data
Communications
We collect information directly from you when you register, use the platform, or contact us. We may also collect usage data automatically through cookies and analytics tools (see clause 12).
When you upload construction drawings or other project documents to PrelimPro, you should be aware of the following:
Drawings and project data are used to generate your estimate and, in anonymised and de-identified form, to improve the PrelimPro platform and AI models as described in clause 6.
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
Providing the platform and services
Improving and developing our platform
Communications
Legal and compliance
We will not use your personal information for any purpose that is incompatible with the purposes listed above without your consent or as otherwise permitted by law.
PrelimPro's core value is its AI-powered estimation capability, which improves over time as it processes more real-world construction projects. To enable this, we use project data submitted to the platform — including uploaded drawings, specification inputs, and generated estimates — to train, validate, and refine our AI models.
What we do:
What we do not do:
Licence for AI training: By uploading drawings and project data to PrelimPro, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use the anonymised and de-identified data derived from that content to train, test, validate, and improve AI models and the platform, including by sharing that anonymised data with trusted third-party AI providers engaged by us for that purpose. This licence survives termination of your account to the extent that anonymised derived data has already been incorporated into trained models and cannot practicably be removed.
If you do not wish your project data to be used for AI training, please contact us at info@prelimpro.com.au before uploading. We will endeavour to accommodate reasonable requests, though this may affect the availability of certain platform features.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or project data to third parties. We may disclose your information in the following limited circumstances:
Service providers: We share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the platform, including cloud hosting providers, payment processors, analytics services, and email delivery providers. These providers are contractually bound to handle your information only as directed by us and in accordance with applicable privacy laws. See clause 8 for a summary of key providers.
Business transfers: If we merge with, are acquired by, or sell all or part of our assets to another entity, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such transfer and your rights in connection with it.
Legal requirements: We may disclose your information where required or permitted by law, including in response to a court order, subpoena, or regulatory request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of PrelimPro, our users, or others.
With your consent: We may disclose your information for any other purpose with your express consent.
We will not disclose identifiable construction drawings to any third party except where necessary to deliver our services (for example, where a cloud storage provider hosts your files) or where you have specifically requested it.
We currently use the following categories of third-party service providers who may receive or process your data as part of delivering the PrelimPro platform:
| Category | Purpose | Data Shared |
